  When I was a child, I used to accompany my mother to a number of fabric stores, where she would sit down and flip through piles of pattern catalogs, jot down pattern numbers and have me find and pull them from the drawers of patterns. From her, I learned that, just because things aren't readily available in stores, doesn't mean that you can't have them. If you can't find it, make it yourself. Nowadays, those little fabric stores seem to have gone the way of the dinosaurs,and are all but extinct. Joanne's is not only a super sized fabric store, but a valuable and rare resource for all manner of crafting supplies that are now hard to come by.
